Carol L. Howard, LMT, CAMT, CST

During the two years after graduating from massage school, I worked as an employee in a corporate massage franchise. During this time, I realized that I was very drawn to helping people with injuries, pain, and physical complaints, and that I wanted to work more thoroughly with these problems, as well as be my own boss.

While I enjoy offering therapeutic massage for relaxation, I knew I wanted to go deeper and find root causes and therapeutic solutions to a variety of problems.

This rewarding quest has never really stopped, so I started Heart of Healing LLC in March of 2016 to further pursue this broad goal. I got certified in Advanced Myofascial Techniques (CAMT), started long-term training in Craniosacral Therapy with Upledger Institute International, took some adjunct training with the Barral Institute on nerves and Listening Touch, and generally followed where my questing muse guided me. At the same time, I also started working with an auto-injury clinic and split my time between my business and that practice. My very educational and rewarding time with the clinic ended in early March of 2020 in favor of further building my business.

For 2021, I started using Heart of Healing Therapeutics as my trade name, to distinguish my business from others using the heart of healing phrase or anything similar.

Currently I am moving my business offerings to a more specific practice that still includes relaxation massage yet focuses more on resolving a variety of physical complaints for my clientele. The purpose of Heart of Healing Therapeutics is to get to the heart of healing your physical complaints.

In my ‘past life’ I practiced, taught, and trained adults in Chinese and Japanese non-competition martial arts for about 35 years. Now I am focused mainly on health, healing practices, and providing relief to those with physical ailments and problems.

Choosing massage as my doorway into this realm, I found it has grounded and supported me in my own quest for balance and gives great satisfaction in helping others resolve their issues and physical pain. I am currently embarked on learning and practicing Chi Gung, Tai Chi, Ba Gua and related studies, while investigating their healing practices both for myself and others.

Along with this I continue to pursue additional skills in Craniosacral Therapy, Neural Manipulation, Musculoskeletal applications, with additional studies in the brain and body. As I have said, the quest never ends.
